Important Updates to the Waiver Request Process
As of October 1, 2025, EOO approval is no longer a prerequisite for the several forms of faculty and staff direct hires previously requiring search waiver approval before processing in UGAJobs. This includes, but is not limited to, search waiver requests for part-time, limited term (including both new position requests and renewal requests for existing limited term appointments), administrative add-ons, rank conversions, and reclassification requests. As a result of these process changes, the current Qualtrics “Search Waiver Request Form” will be taken offline.
If you are seeking a new direct hire that fits into one of the categories listed above or a Direct Appointment in accordance with the current Direct Appointment Guidance, please work with your respective liaison or reach out to directly to either the Office of Faculty Affairs (for faculty) or University Human Resources (for staff) to initiate this process and work through the specific request.
If you have a pending request from a submission to the now-decommissioned Search Waiver Request Form, please anticipate follow-up from our office in accordance with information provided above.
