UGA Celebrates Black History Month

The University of Georgia will celebrate Black History Month 2015, "A Century of Black Life, History and Culture," this February with a variety of programs and activities across campus, including a panel discussion hosted by journalist Soledad O'Brien as part of her "Black in America Tour."  The month-long series of lectures, performances, movies and discussions will celebrate diversity and inclusion on campus, with particular focus given to milestones in African-American culture during the 20th century.  Details can be found here

Open Dialogue on Sexual Consent

On Monday, March 2, at 6:30 PM in room 102 of the Miller Learning Center, the Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) is hosting an Open Dialogue on Sexual Consent. EOO invites the entire University Community – students, faculty and staff - to take this opportunity to ask questions, share information, and engage in dialogue about sexual consent.

The Hunting Ground - April 15 & 16, 2015

Join a campus conversation and free screening of a powerful documentary about sexual assault on college campuses.  Audience discussions will follow each viewing.  Seating is limited to 500 attendees per screening at Tate Theater.  April 15 - 12:00-2:00 pm, April 15 - 6:00-8:00 pm, and April 16 - 3:00-5:00 pm.

UGA's Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) team presents multiple events in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month: The Hunting Ground screening, Take Back the Night March, Clothesline Project, WatchDawgs Bystander Intervention Program and more.

UGA's 2nd Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes - August 29, 2015

5:30-7:30 pm

Walk begins at the Arch on North Campus and ends at Myers Quad.

This program asks men to literally walk a mile in women's shoes as a way to Put Yourself in Her Shoes™ and speak out against rape, sexual assault, and gender violence, while also raising awareness within the community about sexual violence prevention and resources available to survivors.
